The analysis in detail

In accordance with the CONTARP-INAIL Guidelines, we conducted a detailed evaluation of the microbial load on each surface, focusing on the total psychrophilic, mesophilic bacterial load and the total fungal load. These parameters allow us to carefully monitor the level of microbiological contamination and take preventive measures adequate to ensure high hygiene standards in our working environments.

The results of the analyses were extremely positive.. On all the surfaces examined, a very low microbial load was detected, well below the limits established in the 2017 INAIL guidelines for monitoring microbiological contamination of surfaces in work environments. This confirms the effectiveness of our cleaning and hygiene protocols, as well as Teamplast's constant commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all our employees.

The Clean Test Results

To complete the hygiene assessment of our work surfaces, we used the CLEAN TEST® by Liofilchem Diagnostici Srl, a swab specifically designed to detect organic residues such as proteins, fats and sugars. The test results further confirmed the high standard of cleanliness of our surfaces.. Following the scale provided by the test, in fact, all the surfaces were identified as clean or at most as doubtful, indicating a level of cleanliness compliant with the limits set by community regulations.

In conclusion, the results of the microbial analysis and cleaning tests demonstrate our commitment to maintaining constant operational excellence and the safety of the products we manufacture. Continuous monitoring of our hygiene and cleaning practices guarantees the end customer high quality standards and above all safe, certified and compliant products.

Photovoltaic system, recycling and regenerated plastic: the evolutions of the last 5 years

Analyzing the data of the last 5 years, we have objective confirmation that the efforts made are bringing concrete results especially in terms of energy efficiency and recycling of materials. 

One of the highlights is the significant improvement in electricity consumption. Before the installation of the photovoltaic systems in 2019, Teamplast consumed an average of 340,000 KWh of electricity. However, thanks to the adoption of more efficient technologies and the use of renewable energy, such as photovoltaic, consumption was reduced to 260,000 KWh in 2023. This reduction in energy consumption not only helped reduce the environmental impact, but also allowed the company to save on energy costs.

Furthermore, Teamplast has made great progress in the recovery and recycling of plastic materials. In 2019, the company recovered and recycled 42,000 kg of plastic material, while in 2023 this figure increased to 57,000 kg. This significant shift not only helped reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, but also helped reduce dependence on virgin materials and further promote the circular economy.

Teamplast has also increased the purchase of regenerated plastic material. In 2019, the company purchased 18,800 kg of regenerated plastic material, while in 2023 this figure increased to 24,000 kg. This highlights the commitment to supporting the plastics recycling industry and promoting the use of regenerated materials in their production processes.

Having implemented significant improvements in the processes, has resulted in a greater energy efficiency and more responsible management of plastic materials. By adopting increasingly sustainable practices, the company is setting a positive example for the sector, demonstrating that it is possible to reconcile business growth with environmental protection.

This year too, in fact, the company has obtained international certifications that dictate the requirements for packaging to comply with hygiene and safety standards, especially if it is intended for contact with food.
Specifically, the ISO 9001:2015 certification recognizes corporate excellence in the management of production processes in terms of quality and guarantees a constant commitment to improving its processes. The UNI EN 15593/2008 certification is, instead, specific for packaging intended for contact with food and examines the requirements in order for the packaging to be suitable and above all safe.

Quality and process safety: what does ISO 9001:2015 certification consist of?

ISO 9001 is the international standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for Quality Management Systems. The certification collects documented processes and procedures that define the production and customer care rules implemented by the company. In essence, it is a series of documents that certify the high quality standard of production processes and attention to the end customer. The goal is to favor companies that prefer an excellent and safe production system and encourages them to constantly improve. This certification is not only an important synonym of quality but is above all a guarantee for the customer, because the process to obtain it is complex and does not leave out any detail. 

Safe and compliant with food hygiene regulations: what the UNI EN 15593/2008 certification requires

When it comes to packaged food products, it is easy to think that the companies involved must follow strict control policies that guarantee the safety and hygiene of the food contained. Inappropriate and uncertified packaging, in fact, can lead to rapid deterioration of the food, compromising its safety and, consequently, the health of end consumers.
The norm UNI EN 15593/2008 entitled “Packaging – Hygiene management in the production of packaging intended for food products – Requirements” It was created precisely to guarantee the hygiene and safety of packaging intended for direct contact with food..
The ever-increasing attention to the entire food supply chain, in fact, has resulted in the introduction of rules aimed at companies, to ensure that they adopt a compliant and safe production system within their own organization. Furthermore, the standardization of controls and processes favors the marketing of packaged foods even outside their own national borders, establishing shared rules that guarantee the suitability of packaging for contact with food.
The main requirements of the UNI EN 15593/2008 standard involve the application, through a hazard analysis based on the HACCP methodology, of a management system for the hygiene and safety of materials in contact with food and the adoption of a tested and effective traceability method.

Quality Policy: a further commitment to production excellence

In addition to international certifications, we at Teamplast wanted to take a further step forward in the company's production policy, creating a internal Quality Policy document that details the entire process, from the choice of raw materials to the shipment of the finished product.
What does this mean exactly? As we have just seen, international standards imply the adoption of effective and uniform processes, regardless of individual production characteristics. A trivial example could concern the waste collection and disposal process: this aspect is not always covered in depth by certifications, or it may happen that the rules are a bit too generic. Polyethylene coils, also heat-shrinkable

The polyethylene coils are among the most requested items in the industrial sector. They can be used for various purposes, such as isolating certain products from contact with dust, liquids or other substances. They are available both in rolls of different sizes, thicknesses and colours and as finished product for the containment of small and medium objects. In the latter case, custom prints containing product information, commercial logos, batch number, etc. are usually added to the item. They can also be made in heat shrinkable material, generally used for heat shrink packaging.

Sheets and caps for covering platforms

THE sheets and polyethylene caps are ideal for covering pallets and platforms during transport and internal handling. Also in this case they are available in different sizes and thicknesses, based on the specific needs of the customer and the final use.

To isolate the bottom of tubs and boxes and therefore prevent the product from coming into contact with the surface, we create special bags to be inserted inside, available both neutral and colored.

Envelopes, shoppers and bags

To contain small or medium objects, we have a wide choice of envelopes and bags, especially intended for shops or special occasions such as participation in trade fairs and industry events. commercial shoppers contain 10% of recycled material, are made in compliance with all the characteristics required by art. 218, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree no. 152/2006 and subsequent updates Ministerial Decree 18 MARCH 2013 Art. 2 point C.2.

Various features can be added to polyethylene bags: adhesive closure or under pressure, special side or bottom welds and customized prints, even in high definition.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), every year one third of food intended for human consumption is lost or wasted. Translated in terms of weight, this estimate corresponds to over 1 billion tons of food while, in economic terms, to approximately 940 billion dollars lost.

The reasons behind these figures are complex and cannot be traced back to a single cause; furthermore, the numbers vary greatly depending on the different geographical regions and increase in developing countries, where packaging (especially plastic) is little or not used at all. In these countries, FAO estimates that about 50% of the food produced or harvested deteriorates before consumption, contributing not only to increased waste but also to a decrease in the availability of food for people, with consequent problems of malnutrition and scarcity of available resources.

In Italy, in 2022, the waste of food and energy used for its production amounted to 15.6 billion euros, or 1% of the national GDP. Each person wastes on average about 75 grams of food per day, especially “fresh” food such as bread, fruit and vegetables.

The advantages of plastic packaging for food preservation

Plastic food packaging allows you to preserve food better, maintaining their properties intact for a much longer period than unpackaged ones. For example, wrapping vegetables in plastic film increases their shelf life by 4 times; consequently, packaging can also actively contribute to reducing food waste, both on a large scale and within individual families.

Another positive effect resulting from the use of plastic packaging suitable for food contact is related to transport and handling. Plastic packaging, in fact, is light, flexible and particularly resistant to impacts and mechanical stress. It is easier to transport and allows for better logistical organization as it completely isolates the contained product from contact with the outside. Compared to other materials, it helps to reduce the number of means of transport since they often the space occupied by packaging is also reduced, as in the case of PET bottles compared to glass ones. 

Furthermore, plastic is safe and hygienic., fundamental aspects for food preservation; in fact, poorly preserved food increases the probability of proliferation of mold, bacteria or other microorganisms harmful to human health. All the food plastics that Teamplast uses are certified and suitable for contact with food and thanks to technology today increasingly sophisticated and safe granules are obtained, capable of protecting food from humidity, temperature variations, solar rays, impacts and microbes.

Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause the deterioration of materials, to the point of making them unusable or, in other cases, can modify/change the composition of a material/product. Especially in some sectors, such as food and biomedical, adequately preserving the content is of vital importance.

ANTI UV and BARRIER UV plastics: differences and uses

Plastic materials, due to their natural composition, are sensitive to UV rays which can alter or modify their molecular bonds, causing a decrease in elastic and/or mechanical capacity or altering their color, thus making the material more fragile, especially if exposed to atmospheric agents. To avoid this type of problem, plastic materials are added with UV stabilizers that help LDPE films to better resist UV exposure and, consequently, to maintain their characteristics unchanged for a longer time.

So we are talking about ANTI UV materials, that is, materials specifically made to better resist ultraviolet rays, allowing them to deteriorate more slowly, in order to guarantee protection for longer periods of time.

Other types of plastic items, such as some LDPE bags, have the task of protecting what they contain. In fact, there are certain products that, if put in contact with ultraviolet (UV) rays, can alter or change their composition, even becoming unusable due to these changes. In such cases, the plastic material is treated with additives that create a barrier to UV rays, making it acquire the ability to repel the ray itself and repel it elsewhere, thus preventing it from reaching the product packaged inside; in this case we speak of UV BARRIER plastic packaging.

It is important to underline that even UV-resistant plastic materials, if subjected to prolonged exposure to solar rays, can undergo a certain degradation over time. In this regard, it is essential to rely on expert and certified manufacturers, who know how to accurately and competently direct the customer towards the most suitable product. The main variables that determine the choice of one material rather than another are the intended use of the packaging, the industrial sector of reference and the expected duration of exposure to UV rays.
