From the January 1, 2025 The new classification of economic activities has officially come into force ATECO 2025, which replaces the previous version from 2007. This update, introduced by ISTAT and received by theRevenue Agency, aims to more accurately reflect the current economic structure of Italian companies.
For many companies in the manufacturing sector, including Teamplast, the new ATECO represents a strategic opportunity to enhance its productive identity.
What changes with the introduction of ATECO 2025?
Starting from April 1, 2025, the new codes must be adopted in the following areas:
- Tax forms and official declarations
- Corporate documents and communications with the Public Administration
- Management systems and company databases
The update does not require an immediate change to the Tax Registry: it will be applied automatically to the next change transmitted via ComUnica or updated tax forms.
Teamplast's new ATECO code: 22.22 – Manufacture of plastic packaging
With the ATECO 2025 update, Teamplast is now classified in the code 22.22, dedicated specifically to the production of plastic packaging, such as bags, films and covers in LDPE and HDPE.
Compared to the previous code 22.21 (“Manufacture of plastic plates, sheets, tubes and profiles”), this new classification:
- Recognizes the centrality of plastic packaging in the Italian production chain;
- Highlight the specificity of our core business related to flexible packaging for the food, medical, industrial and agricultural sectors.
Why is this change important for packaging companies?
Greater accuracy in classification
Detailed identification of packaging companies enables more effective traceability, useful for statistical data, tax policies, and environmental programs.
Sustainability and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
Code 22.22 allows for a better alignment of environmental incentives and recycling regulations, distinguishing packaging companies from other operators in the plastics sector.
Valorization of production chains
Correct classification strengthens industrial positioning, facilitates cross-sector collaborations and access to public tenders and European projects.
