The Teamplast Srl staff also participated in the waste collection organized by PLASTICFREE of Ferrara in their municipality, Bondeno (Fe).
Abandoned waste is a problem for everyone and we too, as producers of plastic packaging, wanted to give our contribution. It was an important opportunity to reflect and make others reflect on the subject of environmental pollution.
During the day, materials such as plastic, paper, glass, aluminum, wood, bricks, etc. were collected, as well as a portion of undifferentiated and undifferentiable waste. Most of the materials were potentially recyclable, recoverable if correctly differentiated and inserted into an intelligent recovery circuit.
We believe that during these demonstrations it would be appropriate to dedicate some time to providing participants with correct and intelligent information, explaining that the real problem is not the materials that are collected but as always the stupidity of human beings. The waste that we find scattered around our countries, cities, seas, beaches, parks etc. did not go there by themselves, some hand dropped them… abandoned them. The problem is not PLASTIC, PAPER, WOOD but it is man.
Teach to differentiate well, explain that many materials such as PLASTIC are a resource and must be induced into a recovery circuit so that they can return to a new life, often infinite times.
It is important to teach how to recognize the types of PLASTIC to encourage choosing and using materials that are and will always remain 100% recyclable.
Teach the evolution of packaging over time, to understand why in some cases they have been used and it is difficult to think of not doing so, risking going back 30 years and the problems that have been eliminated thanks to current packaging.
Using these events and meetings to also provide correct and accurate information would be a good start, but spreading the message that the waste collected is only plastic is not correct information.
